The water level at 10 am was 41.10 feet, and remained steady at 41.30 feet from 11 am to 5 pm. Then the river’s water levels started receding from 6 pm onwards and reached 41 feet at 7 pm. It might be noted that the Godavari received heavy inflows as its tributaries — Wainganga, Wardha, and Sabari — overflowed due to heavy rain in their catchment area in the past couple of days. The rain situation in the catchment area of the above rivers has turned normal now, causing the Godavari to recede. The rain situation in the district remained normal as there was no rainfall in the majority of the mandals.
